![]() With it, you can easily turn printed sheet music or notation in JPEGs and PDFs into editable scores that you can send to Sibelius Ultimate or Sibelius Artist for further editing. 5.Developed by Neuratron, PhotoScore & NotateMe Lite is a free music scanning program included with Sibelius Ultimate and Sibelius Artist. PhotoScore is (normally, under most circumstances) a totally marvelous app that does seemingly miraculous things, but its interface (even after the recent cleanup from previous versions) and, especially, its documentation need some very serious overhauling.Īlso, on the same Mac: Win XP SP2, same versions of Sib, PhotoScore, and Dolet I stupidly tried this just recently and got myself into a bind that I could only get out of by re-scanning the entire score from scratch. The wording of the menu choice to remove a page, I've discovered quite recently, is totally misleading: it doesn't remove the "translated" page or whatever it's called (the entity where you make your corrections on the screen in PhotoScore) at all rather, it just removes the TIFF or whatever the scanned "picture" is, the one that you see, a couple of staves at a time, at the top of your screen while you're making said corrections. ![]() On the other hand, the one time I've rescanned a page in Ultimate, it did come up in the right place, so I don't know why it didn't for you. I've never even noticed the option you mention for placing a page at a specific location, nor that the documentation claims that page order can be changed by simply dragging. (Fortunately for this purpose, the PhotoScore score opens in Sibelius with its format locked so it has the same page breaks, which makes this much less scary to do than it would otherwise be.) In my humble and error-filled experience, the best way to change the order of pages in PhotoScore is to wait until you've opened the PhotoScore file in Sibelius, and then cut and paste sections there until they're in the right order. 5.1: Photoscore: pages grouped into score The documentation claims that page order can be changed by simply dragging, but that does not work.Ĭan anyone give me some hints at how I can fix these problems? But according to the score view window there are eleven pages and I am able to move between each of them but not delete them because the cannot be selected in the left pane.Įven though page 5 seemed to be placed into the correct location in the left pane (grouped pages list) when playing the music or selecting page 5 it is actually page 6.Īll of the pages that I rescanned show up at the end of the score but cannot be moved or edited. in the left pane where pages are grouped into a score there are exactly seven pages displayed. Once I removed the original page 5 my eight page score became a seven page score and has stayed at that number all along. Now I have completely messed up the score and have no idea how to fix it. I then noticed that there was an option for placing a page at a specific location so I tried that and it worked - sort of. So I removed it and tried several times again. The problem is that after I re-scanned the page it was placed at the end of the score (page 9) rather than where it was supposed to be (page 5). I then made a decision that a single page had to be re-scanned so I did that. I scanned an eight page score into Photoscore (Ultimate / full edition) and did some extensive editing.
